16-578. Instruction and assistance to voters

  1. For instruction of voters there shall be, so far as practicable in each polling place, an operating model of a voting device.

  2. The model furnished shall be located during the election in some place which the voter must pass, and each voter before using the device shall be instructed regarding its operation, have such instruction illustrated on the model and given an opportunity to personally operate the model. The voter's attention shall also be called to the diagram of the face of the device so that the voter may become familiar with the location of the questions and the names of the officers and candidates.

  3. If any voter, after entering the voting booth, asks for assistance the assistance shall be given as provided in section 16-580.
