Biography of Orville Weyrich

Orville Weyrich was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1952. He was married in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1981, and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1989. His daughter was born in Alabama, and his son in Scottsdale. His wife works as a Registered Nurse.

Before moving to Arizona, Dr. Weyrich was Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Georgia. He has since worked in the computing industry in Arizona, as well as teaching at several campuses of the Maricopa Community College District. He presently teaches Computer Programming at Education America and Microbiology and Immunology at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Education

Orville Weyrich, Jr. graduated in 1973 from Union College of Kentucky Magna Cum Laud with a triple major in Chemistry, Math, and Physics. In 1976 he earned a Master's degree in Chemistry from Duke University, and in 1982 he earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Weyrich has additional post-graduate studies in Computer Science and Engineering at Auburn University.

Dr. Weyrich enjoys playing various musical instruments (not ready for prime time), as well as model rocketry and Ham radio.
