FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 5, 2002
The Committee to Elect Orville Weyrich is pleased to announce receiving
the endorsement of Frances Emma Barwood, retired Phoenix City Councilwoman,
for Dr. Weyrich's candidacy for the Arizona State Senate in Legislative
District 8.
According to Councilwoman Barwood, "Orville Weyrich, Jr. has always been
a man of high integrity and a student of our U.S. Constitution. How many
other candidates or existing politicians can you say that about?
He has my endorsement."
In accepting the endorsement, Dr. Weyrich stated that he felt honored to
be endorsed by a great community leader such as Councilwoman Barwood, and
affirmed that his core principles of government were based on the Natural
Rights enunciated by this nation's Founders:
- All persons are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain
unalienable (Natural) Rights, which include Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit
of Happiness.
- In order to secure Natural Rights, Governments are instituted among
people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
- The original intent of the United States and Arizona Constitutions
(as amended) defines the limits and responsibilities placed on government by
consent of the people of Arizona.
- Parents have the natural right and the responsibility to rear their
children in such a manner as to become responsible adults.
- Adults have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long
as they do not initiate force or fraud to interfere with the equal right of
others to live in whatever manner they choose.
- Governments should focus on fulfilling their Constitutional mandates
well, and avoid "mission creep."
