In an October 3 editorial, The Arizona Republic endorsed Carolyn Allen for District 8 Senate over Orville Weyrich. While citing Allen's interest in health and the environment, the Republic neglected to mention that Carolyn Allen is a budget-busting disaster for Arizona. According to the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers Associations, in 2000-2002 she voted on the side of the taxpayer 9 times out of 153 opportunities. During this same time, she failed to vote at all (due to illness) 73 times.

There is no reason to believe that this leopard will change her spots. District 8 deserves far better than this, especially in hard financial times.
