Orville R. Weyrich, Jr. -- Libertarian Reform for Arizona State Senate District 8

These are my core beliefs, which form the basis of my goals and platform.

While the issues that I will be faced with in office cannot be predicted prior to my election, my actions in office will be predicated on these principles. If you agree with my principles, then I ask for your vote.

Natural Rights

All persons are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable (Natural) Rights, which include Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Just Government

In order to secure Natural Rights, Governments are instituted among people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Original Intent

The original intent of the United States and Arizona Constitutions (as amended) defines the limits and responsibilities placed on government by consent of the people of Arizona.

Parental Rights and Responsibilities

Parents have the natural right and the responsibility to rear their children in such a manner as to become responsible adults.

Non-initiation of Force or Fraud

Adults have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not initiate force or fraud to interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose.

Minimality

That government is best which governs least. Governments should focus on fulfilling their Constitutional mandates well, and avoid "mission creep."

Continuity towards Perfection

Inability to achieve perfection should not prevent striving toward the good. Incremental change is preferable to revolutionary change.
