Party labels and candidate platforms can sometimes be misleading, and are a poor predictor of actual performance of many candidates once elected. My core beliefs are simple:
Government exists solely to serve the needs of the citizens it represents. It should do so fairly, honestly, efficiently, unobtrusively, and in compliance with the Constitutions and Local Charters that define its scope of action.
Individuals have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not initiate force or fraud to interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose.

Re: CAFTA Open Letter
Dear Representative Hayworth:
Please be advised that I consider your vote for CAFTA to be betrayal of the American people and the Constitution.
I am sure that you have read in the Constitution that a treaty requires a 2/3 vote of the Senate, and also that you are aware that CAFTA "walks, acts, and quacks" like a treaty. Your lame excuse that CAFTA is needed to counterbalance previous congressional sell-outs to China translates into "we cut off one leg giving China most favored nation status, so let's balance things out by cutting off the other leg." I am also certain that you are aware that CAFTA (like NAFTA and WTO before) hands over to unaccountable international bodies de-facto control of the internal affairs of the United States, including powers not even delegated to Congress by the Constitution, such as control over nutritional supplements. You are also aware that calling NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, or FTAA "free trade" is a lie of Orwellian proportions - these are really managed trade agreements benefiting the global elite rather than the American people.
Although in the past I have carried your petitions, contributed to your campaign, and written letters to the editor in your defense, I have now decided that I will work to unseat you. I will even run against you myself if no other alternative surfaces.
Sincerely,
Orville R. Weyrich, Jr.
